HEALTH & WELLNESS
The Jamaican Association of Massachusetts Health and Wellness group is dedicated to promoting health equity for all members of the Massachusetts diaspora, as well as our home country of Jamaica. Our focus is on identifying and addressing socioeconomic factors that can impact an individual's access to health resources, including income levels, violence rates, housing conditions, and availability of vaccinations and healthy food options.
By working to reduce health disparities within the Jamaican diaspora population, we aim to improve the overall well-being of our community. Our plans encompass a wide range of areas such as chronic health conditions, infectious diseases, physical and mental health, social justice, and nutrition. Through our efforts, we hope to create a healthier and more equitable environment for all members of our diaspora community.
Brain Health
Brain health encompasses the optimal functioning of the brain, including cognitive abilities, emotional regulation, and physical well-being. Maintaining a healthy brain is crucial for overall health and quality of life. As we age, our brains naturally undergo changes, but certain lifestyle factors can significantly impact brain health and reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
